"Don't wish me happiness I don't expect to be happy all the time....It's gotten beyond that somehow. Wish me courage and strength and a sense of humor. I will need them all." Anne Morrow Lindbergh

miracles

Some board books were written not just for babies but also for their mommies. I love the words in My little Miracle. Several pages into the book it says, "each day there are miracles in front of our eyes," and there is a picture of a baby boy. On the next page it says" dance to the music and sing like the birds," accompanied by a picture of a dancing toddler and then several pages later, "look for a rainbow when the sun shines again." With those words there is a picture of a rainbow spanning a green valley. When I woke up this morning the room was full of light and I heard the sound of robins. Yesterday as I watched babygirl smiling beautifully from her new plastic swing that I hung from the pole woodshed I couldn't help but notice the unfurling of the red elderberry leaves. There will always be miracles and rainbows when we take the time to look for them.
